take my body, but leave my poetry

take my body, but leave my poetry

To create anything takes the creator capturing some of the world through their lens. This requires getting out into the world and actually exposing yourself to the environments, people, and inspirations that will allow you to create it.

This concept for Angelbird will span across 6 countries in Africa, The Middle East, and Nepal. Broken down into 3 legs and tied together to summarize.

I began my career as a brand strategist and digital designer. This has been an incredible asset in my creative work. Having a designers perspective helps me think critically about important elements in the projects I work on, such as what's the relevance of the project to the brand, whether it's geared toward the appropriate audience, and if this project embodies that brand's identity.

Summarizing the entirety of the concept in one video with a voiceover script of myself. This video will detail the concept of "Take my body, but leave my poetry." This means the artist must endure the world and sacrifice their comfort to go out to pursue the "poetry" that will outlive them.

This piece is will take visuals from across the 3 months, tying them together into an interwoven cinematic story centered around "Take my body, but leave my poetry."

The Locations

  • Africa - The Body (Camera Filters)
    Location date: September 2025

This leg of the story is captured in Botswana and Kenya during the great migration. Myself and my team have projects there that take us on several safaris during the great migration. This leg is called "The Body," the artist/photographer putting themselves into environments that promote creating their work and that this sacrifice of comfort and pleasantries is necessary to go the extra mile to create.

  • The Middle east + Africa - The Mind (Tripods)
    Location date: October 2025

This leg is called "The Mind," it is short video centered around allowing your mind to expand into these concepts. That placing yourself in the environments is the first step but then you must open your mind to the visuals and stories around you. The team will be in the deserts of Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Morocco for this leg of the concept.

  • Nepal - The Poetry (Memory CArd/storage systems)
    Location date: November 2025

Everest is a place of sheer magnitude and awh, it's hard not to be poetic about it. This leg is called "The Poetry" and details the calling towards capturing these stories, that it cannot be ignored and one must simply follow that calling to create their poetry, their artwork, their photography. Here the team will be spending 3 weeks hiking up Everest to basecamp capturing the entire journey.

Additional Ideas to Summarize Concept
  • An interesting idea for an this would be to host a photo gallery with images collected over the 3 months and showcase them and invite people to an event collaborated by us and Promaster.

Selected projects

Helping brands shape their identity through visual media and digital design to create authentic connections.

Identity is the most powerful connection someone can have to anything. When we identify with something we are saying that is part of who we are. This is a fundamental piece of us as human beings.

We use visual media to capture your story that an audience can identify with and calls them to be a part of. The story speaks to them and they unconsciously bind to your brand, fostering emotional connections that create advocates for your brand.
